Let’s Talk Through the Look Before We Lift

If you’re new to HerLocksJax, new to color services, or booking a bigger color change, we may ask you to start with a consultation first. This gives us time to see your locs, talk through the color you want, and make sure you know what to expect before your appointment. We’ll look at your current color, your scalp and hair health, your inspiration photos, and the time needed to get you the look you want.

Natural Loc Color

You don't have to go vibrant. Adding a natural color to your locs is a great way to glow up your look and make it uniquely yours. Let's make it lighter, darker, or add a little copper.

Loc Highlights

Highlights add dimension to your look that others just can't quite place. Bring in an inspo photo or ask us what color will look best with your complexion. Highlights are your secret tool to get a subtle glow up.

Locs love a good ombre moment. Let's do them long, short, or do multiple colors to make an ombre rainbow effect. Ombre looks great as is or curled at the ends.

Do I need a color consultation first?

YesYou may need a consultation if you’re new to us, making a big color change, going lighter, or starting with previous color. This lets us see how healthy your hair is and talk through what’s realistic before booking the full service.

Can I add a color service to my retie, install or style appointment?

Yes. Let us know ahead of time if you want to add color. If it's your first time getting color or we're doing a big color change, we may need to do a color consult first. We'll let you know how long to expect your appointment to be and pricing on that consultation.

Can I get vibrant color on locs?

Yes, depending on your current color, hair condition, and the shade you want. Vibrant colors may take more time, especially if your locs need to be lightened first. We'll let you know how long to expect your appointment to be.

Can I get natural-looking color on locs?

Yes! Natural color, soft dimension, highlights, richer tones, and subtle changes are all options if you want color that enhances your look without being a big, bold statement.

Can I get color and loc extensions?

Of course! Let's do it big. We can do a beautiful ombre effect on your loc extensions or dye the whole thing and. your natural hair so it all looks like you.

How much does loc color cost?

The cost can vary depending on what kind of color service you're getting. A full head of color will be more than a statement pop of color like mine. When you come in to your color consultation we'll be able to give you an accurate price before booking your service.

Do you accept kids and men as microloc clients?

Yes, we have lots of clients who are kids or men with microlocs. Everyone's welcome in our salon!

In fact, you may see one of our own kids in a chair updating their style! As long as your child is old enough to sit int he chair with designated wiggle breaks, we can do microlocs on them. We have a TV and snacks on-hand, or feel free to bring some items in from home. We may choose to do it over multiple days to make the experience a happy one for you and your little one.

Are you and your locticians certified?

Yes, I'm a trained Sisterlocks Consultant and loctician. My team and I are also trained in interlocking, hair coloring, and extensions.
