If you're new to us, the first step is to book a traditional loc consultation. We’ll assess your scalp health, sizing, go over styling preferences, and pricing, so you know exactly what to expect. Once we have the plan, we'll get you booked for your service - whether that’s an install, shampoo and retwist, detox, or color.

During your consultation, we’ll look at your scalp health, activity level, and hair density so we can talk through the best way to begin. Once we have the details, we'll get you scheduled for your install.

When you come in for your starter locs install, we’ll wash, part, and twist your hair with care. You can relax, enjoy the salon experience, and leave with hands-on education on how to keep your new locs looking fresh, sharp, and easy to care for at home.

If your locs feel heavy, dry, or you notice some breakage, we’ll help you figure out the next step. Sometimes we all need a deep conditioning treatment, a detox, or to switch up our at-home routine. Whatever your locs need, we’ll examine your hair, talk through what’s going on, and discuss repair options. If you need a treatment, we'll get you in to repair any damage so you walk out feeling like yourself again.

Do I need a consultation first?

If you already have traditional locs - no. You can just book your appointment using ourbooking link. You only need a consultation if you're getting starter locs or if you're looking for a loc repair/detox, so we can do a hair and scalp assessemnt.

Does my hair need to be natural for starter locs?

No, we can do starter locs if your hair is currently straightened. What we care about is that your hair and scalp are healthy and we have at least 2 inches of unprocessed hair at the roots.

Can you do starter locs on short hair?

Yes, of course! You can do starter locs on short hair. We only need 2 to 3 inches of hair to start it off. We can keep it short and do a cute style, or we can add length and fullness if that's your hair goal.

How much does a starter loc installation cost?

Starter loc installation varies depending on how much we're sectioning it and how long your hair is. Every install is different, so we do a consultation beforehand so we can look at your hair and give you accurate pricing.

How long does it take for a starter loc install?

It depends on your hair length and if we're adding a color service or doing a big style with it. Starter locs typically take anywhere from 4-12 hours.

Don't worry, we can split up your sessions into a few days if you need us to. We have cold beverages, snacks, TV, plenty of chargers in the salon. Use this time to relax, recharge, or chat.

How often should I get my locs retwisted?

It's different for everyone. Retwist timing depends on your hair growth, lifestyle, and how fresh you like your roots to look. We’ll help you find a schedule that works for your locs without overdoing it.

If you're new to locs or you're very active, you may want to come in more frequently.

Do you offer loc color?

Yes! We're known for our loc color services. Whether you want a full head of color of a pop of color, like mine, we can do it. Come in for a color consultation! Bring an inspo photo and we can either do a solo coloring appointment or work it into your next retie.

Do you shampoo locs before a retwist?

Yes, always! It's a good idea to give your hair a good wash as part of your appointment. We also offer loc detox services and a deep condition wash if you want an extra boost of moisture.

How often should I detox my locs?

Loc detoxes are recommended on an as-needed basis. If your locs feel heavy, have buildup, or your scalp feels dry, we can talk through whether a detox makes sense for you.

Are you and your locticians certified?

Yes, I'm a trained Sisterlocks Consultant and loctician. My team and I are also trained in interlocking, hair coloring, and extensions.
