If you're new to us, the first step is to book a consultation to see what we're working with. This is the foundation of everything we'll do. We’ll assess your scalp health, hair density, sizing, style goals, and pricing, so you know exactly what to expect. Once we have the plan, we'll get you booked so you can get locs that start showing themselves off.

Locs are a beautiful journey, and we’re here for all of it. Our microlocs installation is customized for your hair, your goals, and the look you want. During your consultation, we’ll help you decide what makes sense for your hair and the look you want.

Microlocs Retie

Keep Your Tiny Locs Looking Fresh

Reties help keep your microlocs clean, sharp, and easy to maintain between appointments. Most clients come in for a retie every 4-8 weeks, depending on how quickly their hair grows. Let us know ahead of time if you're looking to add color, curl, or Sprinkles during your retie. If your microlocs were started somewhere else, we may ask you to book a virtual or in-person consultation first.

Microlocs Repair

We're The Ones You Call When Your Locs Need Extra Care

If your locs have weak spots, thinning, dryness, or breakage, we’ll help you figure out the next step. Some locs need a simple retie, some need a loc detox and deep conditioning, and others just need a new at-home routine. We’ll do a repair consultation first look at your hair, talk through what’s going on, and discuss repair steps and pricing. Then we'll get you in to repair any damage so you walk out feeling like yourself again.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, we require all new clients to have a consultation before booking a full service. We don't like to go in blind. So, we'll sit down to discuss what your hair goals are, examine your scalp health, and hair density. Then we'll discuss the best options for you, explain the process, and get you booked for your first session.

If you already have microlocs and are transfering to us from a different salon, we can usually do your consult virtually or you can come into the salon.

If you're new to locs as a whole, we want to see you in perosn to assess your scalp and hair health.

Does my hair need to be natural to start microlocs?

No. We can start locs whether you have natural hair, traditional locs, or straightened hair. What we care about is that your hair and scalp are healthy. We’ll assess your hair length, density, and scalp health during your consultation and recommend the best way to start your locs.

Can you do starter locs on short hair?

Yes, of course! You can do starter locs on short hair. We only need 2 to 3 inches of hair to start it off. We can keep it short and do a cute style, or we can add length and fullness if that's your hair goal.

How much do microlocs cost?

Pricing varies depending on what we're doing - starter locs, a retie, or adding length with loc extensions. Every install is different, so we do a consultation beforehand so we can look at your hair, go over your goals, and give you accurate pricing.

Do you accept kids and men as microloc clients?

Yes, we have lots of clients who are kids or men with microlocs. Everyone's welcome in our salon!

In fact, you may see one of our own kids in a chair updating their style! As long as your child is old enough to sit int he chair with designated wiggle breaks, we can do microlocs on them. We have a TV and snacks on-hand, or feel free to bring some items in from home. We may choose to do it over multiple days to make the experience a happy one for you and your little one.

Can I get microlocs extensions if my hair is short?

Yes! Loc extensions are a great option if you want more length or fullness. We can do extensions whether you’re getting microlocs for the first time or you’ve decided it’s time to change it up.

Come in for a consultation so we can see your current length, talk through what’s possible, give you accurate pricing, and let you know how long your appointment will take. Then we’ll get you booked for the service that makes the most sense for your hair and the look you want.

How long does it take for a microloc install?

It depends on your hair length, density, and if we're adding color or extensions. Microloc installs typically take anywhere from 8-24 hours.

Don't worry, we'll split up your sessions into a few days. Plus, we have beverages, snacks, TV, plenty of chargers, and we have a great selection of places that deliver to the salon. Use this time to relax, recharge, or chat.

How often do I need a retie?

It's different for everyone. Most people come in for a retie every 4-8 weeks. It depends on how quickly your hair grows out and how new to locs you are.

If you're new to microlocs, you'll want to come in more frequently to help the hair lock properly. We recommend once every 4 weeks. If you've had locs for a while or your hair grows slower, you can get away with a microlocs retie every 8+ weeks.

Can I add hair color or extensions?

Yes. We're known for our vibrant loc color services. Whether you want a full head of color of a pop of color, like mine, we can do it. Come in for a color consultation! Bring an inspo photo and we can either do a solo coloring appointment or work it into your next retie.

Are microlocs and Sisterlocks the same?

Not quite. Microlocs is the common term for all tiny loc styles. Microlocs can be started and maintained using different methods and tools. Sisterlocks are a specific, trademarked microloc method and grid system. They can only be installed and maintained by trained Sisterlocks Consultants, which I am.

So, Sisterlocks are a type of microlocs, but not all microlocs are Sisterlocks. My team and I are trianed in Sisterlocks, interlocking, and other install methods so we can use the healthiest method for your hair density and length.

Why do you prefer the interlocking method?

We use both interlocking and the Sisterlocks methods in the salon, but we prefer interlocking. The interlocking method creates a secure base for smaller locs without needing a lot of product to hold everything together. It also works well for people who want clean parts, flexible styling, and maintenance that stays neat between appointments.

Are you and your locticians certified?

Yes, I'm a trained Sisterlocks Consultant and loctician. My team and I are also trained in interlocking, hair coloring, and extensions.
